Description

As a non-profit organization that is responsive to both industry and community needs, Saskatoon Trades and Skills Centre (STSC) delivers short-term trades and skills training to youth and adults, leading to entry-level jobs where workers are in high demand.

ROLE:
The STSC Job Coach - Trades & Light Industrial is responsible for the coordination, implementation and facilitation of STSC programs focused on construction trades/light industry in alignment with the organizations strategic plan to ensure successful delivery and positive outcomes for all stakeholders in our community.

DUTIES:
- Deliver and facilitate relevant STSC courses
- Participate in program development
- Promote STSC training programs to appropriate industry partners
- Plan, track, and report on outputs and outcomes on a monthly basis
- Participant coaching including job search support
- Maintain database, electronic records and other administrative duties
- Maintain inventory control and equipment upkeep
- Apply change, risk and resource management principles when needed
- Liaise with STSC Industry employers and practicum placements
- Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager and/or Executive Director

REQUIREMENTS:
- Good knowledge and handling of project management methodology and techniques
- Experience in providing employment support services to a diverse client group including marginalized individuals
- Strong understanding of classroom instruction methods and the ability to deliver material in an engaging manner
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong knowledge of trades and apprenticeship opportunities in Saskatchewan
- Valid drivers license
- Journey Person/Vocational Certificate or Post-secondary in a related field
- Clean vulnerable sector criminal record check
