RIWC Regina Immigrant Women Centre is a non-profit organization providing services to newcomer women and their families. RIWC is hiring a Social Worker in the Family Support Program to provide
client-centered family and gender-based interventions, support services and information workshops for vulnerable newcomer women and their families.
Job Requirements
Manage a caseload using knowledge and application of culturally affirming, trauma-informed case management model
Develop case plans for newcomer women and their families to provide strength-based support and treatment plans to empower clients and create stability and security in their life
Engage clients in problem solving techniques to strengthen their independence and informed decision-making skills
Create partnerships with support agencies to advocate on behalf of clients for access to services and resources
Develop and deliver one-on-one or group educational and life skills workshops
Build and maintain a professional relationship with clients while maintaining boundaries and building trust and support
Knowledge of culturally sensitive approaches to work with newcomers
Ability to work independently as well as with a team
Ability to balance diverse and conflicting workload pressures in a timely manner to meet client needs and program goals
Maintain accurate and comprehensive case files
Compile information to create reports
Candidate should be comfortable to lead group facilitation
Ability to advise clients in a variety of changes, transitions and
challenging situations
Work Environment: Flexibility in work hours are required to meet client needs
Qualifications
Bachelor of Social Work is mandatory and 1 to 2 years of experience working with culturally diverse clients.
SASW license should be presented before commencing and it should be in good standing
Class 5 Drivers License and access to a reliable vehicle
Clear Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Check
