Description

The Career Services Branch is seeking one (1) Term Career Service Consultant to provide support to the operation of the Career Services Office in Saskatoon. This position is with the Career Development Services unit working one-on-one with individuals to provide career and employment services.

Career Service Consultants are highly skilled individuals with a strong background in career/employment services and adult training methods to help provide access to education, employment and training opportunities to a wide variety of individuals in order to increase their self-sufficiency. Career Service Consultants work in partnership with community agencies and businesses to foster economic development and job creation. In this role, you will be working directly with clients to move towards employment.

Reporting to the Career Development Service Unit Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting client employability assessments, career planning and client case management virtually or in person in your community.
- Assisting clients through the Employability dimensions and career development journey.
- Collecting, recording and analyzing relevant data to make accurate and timely decisions.
- Communicating information that persuades, convinces, builds support, educates and promotes understanding verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences.
- Assessing client needs to make appropriate referrals to inform training and employment contracts.  To support, design, and develop contracts with community stakeholders.
- Developing and facilitating workshops and information sessions for a variety of audiences.
- Accurately recording and documenting pertinent information in accordance with data standards.

Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be attained through a human services degree, diploma or a certificate program related to adult client counselling and/or years of experience in client case management.
