Description

We are a Saskatchewan owned, fully Integrated, design, fabrication, installation and maintenance engineering company. We are also home of Cloud-Rider, a leading, Canadian automotive accessory business.
Although you will principally be working on designs for Cloud-Rider products, at RMD no two days are ever the same. We may ask you to assist with designs on a nuclear medicine project or on a project for water bombers in the north. Yes, we do some very interesting and cool things!
Our Saskatoon manufacturing facility encompasses state-of-the-art equipment and technologies along with a dedicated team of highly skilled engineering and design personnel.
What Does a Mechanical Design Technologist Do?
The Mechanical Design Technologist is responsible for development and documentation of project designs which includes:
Developing vehicle project designs for grille inserts, tow flap, step liners, mud flaps, etc.
Creating and updating design drawings based on specifications provided by senior members of the design team.
Creating customer installation and use instructions for any new products.
Working within deadlines to complete projects and to prepare for production.
What Qualifications Do We Look For?
Completion of secondary schooling in CAD programming
Three to five years of drafting experience using CAD tools or AutoCad scripting and repetitive tools such as array, offset and mirror.
Advanced math skills.
Ability to work seamlessly between 2D and 3D space.
Ability to effectively communicate (in English) and collaborate with design and manufacturing team member, customers, and suppliers.
Proficient in common computer computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
Familiarity with applicable federal, provincial, and local regulatory requirements for the products Cloud-Rider manufactures and distributes.
Holds a Class 5 Drivers License.
