Description

Key Responsibilities:
1.Financial Sustainability
-Oversee monthly financial statements, bank deposits, audits, and regulatory reporting.
-Ensure tax compliance with GST, PST, and HST.
-Manage accounts receivable/payable, bank deposits, staff expenses, and credit card transactions.
-Reconcile accounts and process approvals.
-Lead year-end accounting tasks, documentation, and audits.
-Develop financial policies and ensure accurate system documentation.
-Provide financial data for reports and manage donations, grants, and sponsorships.
-Prepare and present financial reports to the Executive Director and Board.
-Participate in budgeting and manage variances.
2.Payroll & Benefits Administration
-Administer payroll using Payworks, including employee setups, adjustments, and time tracking.
-Handle government reporting (ROE, T4s, TD1 forms) and manage staff benefits (pension, health, leave, vacation).
-Maintain staff records and address payroll queries.
-Prepare and update staff contracts with the Executive Director.
3.Board Support (*for full-time roles)
-Assist the Executive Director in board meetings by drafting agendas, compiling reports, maintaining records, and preparing minutes.
-Ensure compliance with board documentation and respond to financial information requests.
Qualifications:
Experience in financial management, accounting, and payroll administration.
Familiarity with tax compliance (GST, PST, HST), year-end accounting, and audits.
Strong knowledge of Payworks, Concur, and financial reporting tools.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to collaborate across departments.
Professional accounting designation (CMA, CGA, CA) is an asset.
