We are a busy law firm serving Prince Albert and the surrounding area in all fields of law. We are looking for an energetic and bright individual to join our team as a Legal Assistant. The ideal candidate will have some experience in a law firm or other office setting, experience with computers and excellent typing skills. In addition, a connection to the community of Prince Albert is an asset.
Start Date: Available immediately. This is a maternity leave position with a strong potential of permanent employment.
Salary: Competitive with industry standard and commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefit plan is available.
Qualifications:
Preferred 1-2 years' experience working in a law firm or other office environment.
Ability to follow instructions, type from dictation, prepare forms and other legal documents.
Prior experience with PCLaw, Worldox, and Microsoft Word is an asset.
Strong interpersonal skills and general math/accounting skills are important.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include working primarily with one lawyer, preparing documents upon instruction, preparing materials for Court, working independently to compile documents, booking appointments, pulling files, preparing accounts, and assisting with front desk coverage with fellow assistants.
