Description

At Mainstay we seek to help mining companies in Canada by providing technical solutions for their operations and their capital construction projects. Our multidisciplinary teams of qualified professionals have successfully overseen billions of dollars worth of projects in mining and other industries.
Responsibilities:
The successful individual will have the opportunity to be a part of the Mainstay design team and to learn aspects of piping and machine design from several senior mechanical engineers. The junior mechanical engineer will drive business development in the structural space, lead with integrity, and demonstrate effective and efficient organizational skills. This role will actively contribute to projects and support Project Managers within their department. Providing approvals, technical oversight and mentoring on proposals and engineering deliverables.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Application of design software for mechanical design in conjunction with senior engineers. Assist in designing mechanical systems and components. Conduct research to identify innovative solutions to complex mechanical problems. Perform calculations and prepare reports detailing engineering specifications and technical data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper integration of mechanical components with other systems. Inspect malfunctioning equipment to determine the root cause of the problem. Develop and maintain documentation for design, maintenance, and testing procedures
Participate in project meetings between engineering, project management, operations, and client. Understand and apply all applicable industry and client standards for design and engineering.
Qualifications:
Proficiency with AutoCAD and other engineering tools. Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement. Effective Interpersonal Skills  Strong Written and Verbal skills are a must, to ensure clear communication between team members, clients, contractors, and suppliers.
