Under the general supervision of the City Manager, the Director of HR & Corporate Services is responsible for providing advice and guidance to the management and supervisory team(s) for all aspects related to the Human Resources function. This role is also required to operate as a neutral third party liaison between the employee and management groups as required. The Director requires a high level of decision making and problem solving skills as they significantly contribute to decision making in areas that include employee discipline, employee relations and compliance with employment/labour standards. The incumbent is also accountable for the following Human Resources processes: recruitment and orientation/onboarding, absence management, training and development, performance, compensation and benefits. The Director also collaborates in creating and maintaining the Human Resources budget. This role represents the City of Weyburn in union related processes (ie. contract negotiations). The Director is responsible for all strategic HR objectives, and oversees the work of the Safety Coordinator and Public Relations Coordinator.
