Description

The Kinistin Saulteaux Nation is seeking an individual who is enthusiastic about making a difference, able to think critically to plan, synchronize and execute complex undertakings for the position of Full Time Kisawisowin Prevention Program Coordinator. The Coordinator will be responsible for the program development, implementation and evaluation of the Kisawisowin Program using the Tikinagan Model of Child Care. The model is designed under the principles of traditional methods and adapting these to meet the needs of contemporary society. The Coordinator will work closely with the Prevention Manager and team to focus on programming and activities as a means to address and promote family wellness. The position will be supervised by the Prevention Manager with an overall accountability to the Kinistin Saulteaux Nation.
Work very closely with the Prevention Manager and Prevention Team.
Work cooperatively with Kinistin Chief and Council, Program Managers, and all frontline workers.
Promote the Kisawisowin program to community membership and provide continual support of the Community-Based Tikinagan Model of Childcare and family support.
Coordinate activities and create calendar of events via numerous channels.
Plan and at times, facilitate community information workshops on effective and healthy parenting that addresses various family groups (ie; young parents, single parents, step parents, grandparents and Kisawisowin parent families).
Assist in identifying the need for family support services and possible resources available in community or outside the community.
Refer reports of child abuse and neglect to the Family Service Liaison or Prevention Worker.
Communicate and plan with child Protection Services as need for on reserve children of the Kinistin Saulteaux Nation
In all circumstances, ensure that information of available services and supports are communicated to the family in need of family support.
