About the Position

This position performs tasks for efficient and effective project purchasing and coordination of materials and services with various vendors to meet project schedules.  The Procurement Specialist ensures items are purchased from specified suppliers and delivered on time.  More specifically, your duties and responsibilities will be to:

- Interface with Project Engineers for purchasing activities; vendor selection and bidding process, produce quotes, ensure prompt delivery, and manage proposal requests.
- Facilitate expediting on purchase orders to ensure schedule is met.
- Negotiate with vendors to secure specific products and services.
- Review planned orders and create requisitions for approved material and services.
- Track and communicate orders and provide visibility of potential interruptions to project engineers.
- Responsible for effective relationship management with contractors, suppliers, service providers and project engineers.
- Identify problems quickly, make sound judgements, and establish and implement solutions.

About the Candidate

Our preferred candidate has a post secondary degree or diploma in business admin or commerce.  We are willing to provide training for the right candidate.
