Description

Ground Truth Ag is an exciting, young, agtech company building products that generate realizable value using real-time grain quality data. We're adding to our multi-disciplinary team to bring our products to market.

We're seeking a full-time Analytical Chemist, with a specialization in spectroscopy and chemometrics. In this role, you would be challenged to develop and refine techniques for analysis of grains with spectroscopic techniques and assisting the multi-disciplinary team in deploying those techniques in the field.

The successful candidate will have experience with vibrational spectroscopy, and a combination of knowledge and experiences that may include optics, chemometrics, partial least squares and other statistical models including artificial neural networks.

Minimum qualifications
Bachelors degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
5+ years of relevant experience (Bachelors) or 2+ years of relevant experience (Masters or PhD)
Hands on experience with spectroscopy methods and chemometrics tools
A strong understanding of data science, machine learning, and statistics
Ability to independently manage projects and meet deliverables
Excellent communication skills and English fluency
Due to the nature of this lab-based work, the successful candidate will need to relocate to Regina, SK and work at the Ground Truth Ag office.

Preferred qualifications (include the minimum qualifications above)
Extensive practical application of near infrared spectroscopy in agriculture
Modelling data with chemometric tools for multi-variate analysis and PLS regressions
Python coding or similar tools for data handling and analysis
Demonstrated success working in a cross-disciplinary team

You'll be working on things like:
Refinement of near infrared spectrometry experimental setup for grain analysis
Collection and analysis of spectrometric data
Integration of chemometric models into the overall Ground Truth Ag product
