Description

We are looking for a compassionate, caring, patient Public Health Nurse with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Our Public Health Program experiences a team environment with a shared goal and commitment to provide our clients with the care and diligence they need and deserve. About the position: The Public Nurse will use his/her assessment and nursing skills to effectively assist the clients to maintain an optimal level of health; Utilize Assessment, educating, & nursing skills to carry out Public Health Nursing programming; in the publicly funded Saskatchewan Immunization Program, Pre & Postnatal care, Communicable Disease Control & Tuberculosis programming; Provide direct care by assessing client health needs, planning care, implementing interventions & evaluating  outcomes; Promote healthy lifestyles, & health promotion; Assess needs of Band Members & make necessary referrals; Act as a client advocate & a liaison between LLRIBHS & other agencies.

Qualifications: Suitable candidates will have a minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing; Must be in good standing and registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS); Previous Public Health and/or Acute Care experience is an asset. Experience working with First Nations Communities is an asset; Ability to speak/or understand Cree a definite asset; Ability to work as a team member. Ability to travel to Outlying Communities. Must have a valid Drivers License.
