Purpose
The main purpose of Kahkewistahaw First Nations Mental Health Therapist will be to provide the highest quality, behavioral and targeted case management services to individuals in need. We strive to assist the communitys mental health to obtain the services needed and to support them in their goals to improve functionality and their integration in community settings, while improving the overall quality of life. This position is jointly focused on community-based programming and client referral services. The Mental Health Therapist will be under the direct supervision of the Health Director.
Scope of Work
1. Develop and implement a community based mental health plan, including workshops, public meetings and preparing proposals for funding.
2. Assess, screen, prioritize and provide referrals to appropriate agencies.
3. Provide culturally appropriate and specific individual, family, and group therapy, with a focus on education and prevention of addictions and harmful lifestyles.
4. Establish and maintain a reporting system, which outlines client services and utilizations, and referrals.
5. Submit weekly/monthly/quarterly and annual activity reports to the Health Director.
6. Any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
