Description

The Ministry of Social Services is looking for individuals join our team as Child and Caregiver Support Workers.

We offer a drive-in and drive-out position in Meadow Lake over a four-week average period. You will work 11-hour days (Monday through Saturday) with scheduled days off. Travel time from your home location to Meadow Lake at the beginning and end of the rotation may be compensated, and staff housing may be provided.

In this role, you will provide a range of services designed to provide protective, preventative and support services to extended families, foster parents, adoptive parents, alternate caregivers, plus children and their families using the P.R.I.D.E. model and the Family Centered Case Management Model of practice.  

As a Child and Caregiver Support Worker, you will be responsible for delivery of services, which include casework and resource planning related to a variety of programs for children in care, foster families, and/or extended family caregivers.  

You will work effectively and positively with co-workers, supervisors, the regional management team, and caregivers to support regional directions that continuously improve or enhance service delivery to children and their families. You may be required to deliver training or facilitate groups for educational/support purposes. You may also be required to conduct intensive home studies for prospective adoptive families, foster parents, extended family-based caregivers and/or facilitate foster care placements and provide post-placement support and maintenance.

You will provide support to caregivers to develop planning for childrens best interests and work with them in establishing the supports they require. You will work with foster parents/caregivers to plan and prepare the childs return home.  

You will act as a liaison and consultant where required, with FNCFS and other community agencies, on matters relating to service delivery and decisions regarding children
