Description

The Property Management Branch within the Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement is seeking an individual to join our team as a Facility Maintenance Mechanic in Saskatoon. As a part of the Property Management team, you will provide facility maintenance support at government-owned and government-managed buildings in the area via a number of duties:
- Performing facility maintenance duties such as operating, maintaining and cleaning building mechanical systems and HVAC systems on the campus, including providing minor repairs to these systems;
- Performing safe and efficient operation of the boiler systems and air conditioning equipment;
- Analyzing and maintaining boiler water testing and complete minor plumbing repairs;
- Ensuring facilities and equipment are safe and are meeting operating standards; and
- Completing any additional responsibilities as assigned.

To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have:
- Knowledge and experience working with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems (HVAC);
- Knowledge of automated building management systems and Direct Digital Controls (DDC);
- Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and practices of carpentry, plumbing and electrical systems;
- The ability to inspect, troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions and perform minor repairs and maintenance using proper safety precautions and standards; and
- The ability to respond to questions and concerns calmly and respectfully from clients with clear and consistent communication.

You will also possess either: (a) 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate, or (b) both a Fireman Boiler Operator Certificate and a Refrigeration Engineer Certificate. If there are no candidates who possess these certifications, we are open to having the successful candidate work under the Building Operator while they obtain the required certifications (within twelve months of employment).
