The Manager of child care services - Child Support Unit reports to the Director of Child Care Services and is responsible to manage assigned TCOC homes. Key areas of accountability include continuous monitoring of the well-being of children located in the homes, managing staff, enforcing policy and program delivery and responding to childcare related issues such as crisis or health-related intervention. The manager will also ensure that our homes are operating in a safe, efficient and effective manner.
QUALIFICATION and EXPERIENCE:
-A degree from a recognized learning institution relating to Social Work, Psychology, Education or similar program.
-Valid First Aid and CPR
-Successful experience working with children who have unique backgrounds/special needs.
-Proven successful experience managing a staff complement.
-Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
-Knowledge and understanding of human behavior and underlying causes
-Knowledge of Indigenous history and culture with an emphasis on First Nations
-Knowledge of the Child Care Act, the Residential -Services Manual and the Child Protection Services Manual
LICENSE
A valid Class 5 driver's license and use of a reliable vehicle.
