Description

The Bridges to Healing & Harmony Coordinator will oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of culturally appropriate programs for vulnerable populations and youth within the urban Indigenous community. This role involves collaboration with community partners and elders to support addiction recovery, accessibility, senior engagement, and youth development, through land-based activities, aiming to reduce barriers and enhance community wellness.

Duties and Responsibilities:
-Design and oversee culturally relevant programs focusing on addiction recovery, accessibility, senior engagement, and youth development.
-Engage with Indigenous communities, elders, and stakeholders to inform program design and foster participation.
-Establish evaluation methods to measure program impact and refine services based on feedback.
-Collaborate with community organizations and service providers to enhance program delivery.
-Manage program budgets and seek funding opportunities to expand capacity.
-Integrate traditional knowledge, cultural practices, and land-based activities into program offerings.

Requirements:
-Bachelors degree in Social Work, Psychology, Indigenous Studies, or related field, or equivalent experience.
-Experience working with Indigenous communities and understanding of Indigenous cultural practices, including land-based activities.
-Strong communication skills and ability to engage diverse community members.
-Proven program coordination skills, including budget management and meeting deadlines.
-Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and relevant software.
-Valid Class 5 drivers license, current drivers abstract, and Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
-Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel within the community.
