Description

The Director, Finance and Administration is accountable to the Associate Vice President, Applied Research and Continuing Education for the effective management and leadership of applied research and continuing education administrative initiatives and effective oversite of financial administration of both areas. Reporting to the associate vice-president, applied research and innovation & continuing education, the director has primary responsibility for leadership in the development of applied research and associated institutional certification and audit requirements, post-award management, reporting, database management, analytics and metrics and oversite of human resource activities, including ESC management, unclassified scoping, and end-dated position management at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. The Director also provides oversight and leadership of the internal applied research grant applications and awards, research ethics, research scholarships and student showcase.

This position plays a pivotal role in advancing the strategic objectives of the Office of Applied Research and Innovation and the Centre for Continuing Education by providing leadership and oversight for the financial and administrative aspects of both areas. This position is responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures, and systems to ensure effective management of external finances, compliance with funding regulations, and support for personnel. The Director collaborates closely with senior leadership, research teams, and external stakeholders to optimize the utilization of resources and facilitate the success of applied research and continuing education initiatives.
