Description

As a Facilities Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep and functionality of our facilities. This role involves physical labor, including but not limited to handyman work, snow removal, and painting. You must be physically fit and possess a valid Class 5 driver's license as you will be required to travel between our facilities located throughout the city to perform maintenance duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:
-Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairing plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC systems.
-Conduct snow removal activities including shoveling, plowing, and applying ice melt as needed.
-Complete painting tasks to maintain the appearance of buildings and facilities.
-Inspect facilities for damage or hazards and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
-Assist with the setup and takedown of equipment for events or activities held at our facilities.
-Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas and storage areas for maintenance supplies.
-Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies as they arise.

Requirements:
-Some high school or equivalent.
-Valid Class 5 drivers license.
-Proven experience in general maintenance or related field preferred.
-Own reliable vehicle to travel between facility and receiving homes.
-Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) regulations and practices.
-Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
-Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems.
-Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
-Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
