Description

The Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure is seeking a highly-motivated individual with superb interpersonal and leadership skills for the role of Capital Planning Coordinator, Program Planning and Analysis unit of the Project Support Office.

This exciting position will play an integral role in the development of capital program, ongoing forecasting and reporting, trend and risk analysis, and project management plan development for all design and construction projects. The Capital Planning Coordinator is at the center of the Program Planning and Analysis unit. This position will develop and update the databases and information that the unit uses to do reporting and programming functions.

In this role, you will:

- Manage the Ministrys capital forecast database to provide current and accurate information on the status and costs of various Ministry programs and projects;
- Conduct detailed analysis on program expenditures and accomplishments to report progress on performance measures, public performance plan and establish targets and key actions for future performance plans;
- Develop and update briefing and communications materials related to Ministry capital programs in order to explain, update or address specific operational or budget issues;
- Liaise with internal program managers on funding initiatives and program management initiatives as required to implement capital programs; and
- Assist with the creation of project management plans for approved design and construction projects.

Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be gained and demonstrated through the completion of a business degree with a strong computer background, a computer science degree with a financial/accounting background, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
