Job Purpose
Under the direction of the Settlement and Community Support Director, the Community Development Worker informs and educates community members by working with volunteers and clients in the Societys programming. This position assist immigrants to become independent and self-sufficient by facilitating volunteer recruitment, orientation and training for various programs.
Education and Experience
-Graduation from a post-secondary program in the social sciences, humanities or communications, and one year of experience working in a community development or public relations or volunteer management role, OR
-Equivalent to one year of post-secondary training in the above noted fields and three years of experience working in a community development or volunteer management role.
-One year of experience working as a volunteer in a human service capacity.
-Cross-cultural Experience.
