Job Description  Transport Coordinator - Ka-Pa-Chee Training Centre
Position Profile:  The Transport Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the administration of and supervising the transport function at Ka-Pa-Chee Training Centre.  This position confirms details of referrals from the Ministry of Social Services, develops detailed assignments and communicates details and schedules Transporters to assignments.  
Position Reports to: Executive Director
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Reviews referrals on a daily basis and ensures that all required details are recorded and provided.  Follows up with Social Services/Caseworker if additional information is needed.
2.Responsible for shift planning.  Assesses the Transporters schedule and matches the referral with the Transporter
3.Sends assignments to the selected Transporter. Maps out the routes for trips, calculates the mileage and hours and other details for the transport .Then Emails the assignment to the Transporter.
4.Communicates with Client Care givers, Adult Clients and/or Group Homes or necessary facilities being used to confirm transport dates and times.
5.Collects notes and documentation from the Transporters, files appropriately, and files with the Case worker or Social Worker the appropriate or necessary documents.
6.Troubleshoots situations when contacted by a Transporter who is on a trip and having concerns or issues with the assigned transport.
7.Provides orientation and training for new Transporters and ensures performance feedback is provided to the executive Director as required.
KEY JOB-RELATED REQUIREMENTS
Experience with scheduling and logistics
Computer skills are required as well as knowledge of scheduling software
Business administration certificate/diploma or a social work degree or knowledge of social services and business practices
Supervisory experience
Experience working with vulnerable populations
Up-to-date Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Se
