Position Description:
In close coordination with YWCA Childrens Housing Directors, Food Service and Supply Manager will work both independently and as part of the team and is responsible for the food and supply provision, preparation, and purchasing for the Childrens Homes which support children aged 0-12 years 24-hour basis. Typically, the great majority of children we care for are of Indigenous ancestry. Often, children in these homes have experienced trauma in unsafe and unhealthy situations. All Childrens Housing staff are expected to contribute to creating an environment that promotes safety, support, trust and respect by cultivating healthy relationships, and will work to develop and maintain a culturally appropriate environment.
Responsibilities Include:.
Weekly food prep for meals and snacks for childrens homes. These items will be delivered weekly to the homes for staff to use for meals;
Place food, grocery orders for meal and snack prep as well as items needed for meals made in the homes (breakfast and lunch);
Arrange for weekly or bi-weekly meal delivery;
Manage time and schedule with input from Childrens Housing Directors;
Source purchases for homes including general supplies and large items including appliances and furniture
Maintain a high standard of health and safety procedures;
Attend staff meetings and meet with team regarding changes in needs.
Administration and Reporting
budgets are created and followed.
Observe food costs and seasonal changes to supply that could impact costs;
Review purchasing partners with Sr Director of Operations annually;
Submit and track receipts and expenses;
Keeping an accurate logbook of partners, order dates, and delivery dates;
Maintain YWCA Regina vehicle for transportation needs on an ongoing basis
