The Cultural Youth Support Worker will support children, aged 0 18 in land based cultural and mental health support services. CYSW will be able to deliver programming in addressing positive mental health activity, inclusive of counselling, cultural teachings, and land-based programming. The CYSW will empower children/youth to become active, social, and engaged to be included in the family and community.
Duties of this include, but not limited to:
CYSW will deliver programming, addressing positive mental health activity, inclusive of counselling, cultural teachings, land-based programming.
To provide support with cultural and traditional capacity development for youth
To engage youth resilience while promoting health lifestyle choices, education, and health & wellness
Supporting children in group mental health activity, scheduled programming that supports children to gain confidence and skills.
All applicants must possess the following requirements:
Must have completed a grade 12 education.
Provide a clean, current CPIC and Child Abuse Record Check
Have a valid drivers license with attached SGI Drivers Abstract
Must role model a healthy lifestyle.
Willing to work in the evening and weekends.
A strong commitment to young people and an understanding of the factors affecting their lives.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish good relationships with young people.
