Description

The Citizen Centric Program Delivery Branch - Application Management Services (AMS) team is seeking an individual who is motivated, and results oriented for the position of Senior Database Administrator.   The Senior DBA is passionate about learning, understanding, and working with database technologies. The position may provide training, direction, and technical guidance to staff, and/or team leadership, and provides solutions to others' problems.

Our successful candidate will have considerable knowledge and demonstrated experience supporting at least one mainstream Database Technology (Db2, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, mainframe DB) and associated tools. Proven communication and problem-solving skills are also required. The successful candidate will be committed to professional development and staying current in a changing IT landscape.

Qualifications:

- Degree in computer science or a related discipline, supplemented by related technical and management experience in a large fast-paced IT environment.
- 10+ years of experience in data integration, data movement and database administration preferred.
- Good knowledge of computer fundamentals; systems analysis and design techniques; current operating systems and environmental; and supported products and services in the Systems Operations area.
- Demonstrated knowledge of systems management disciplines.
- Demonstrated problem determination and resolution skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability and initiative to learn and use new techniques, products, and systems.
- Positive attitude, proven self-learner and demonstrated work ethic.
- Familiarity with transitioning to Oracle Cloud
