Description

The Ministry of Highways is committed to providing an integrated transportation system supporting economic growth and prosperity for Saskatchewan citizens.

Our and Management Services Team is seeking a highly skilled, values-based leader as a Senior Indigenous Land Advisor. Reporting to the Manager of Land Advisory and Client Services, this position will advise and support senior leadership and program delivery teams regarding Indigenous engagement and collaboration related to federal and provincial Crown lands.

The successful candidate will research and consult with internal and external stakeholders to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate policies and programs, review legal frameworks and lead development of an Indigenous engagement strategy for provincial highway and municipal road projects. Our candidate will be strategic, have superior interpersonal and communication skills, be effective at facilitation, conflict management, negotiation, and consensus-building that fosters positive working relationships with First Nations organizations, Mtis Locals, and Indigenous communities. Thier outstanding engagement skills will lead in building an awareness within the ministry of Indigenous culture, history, and traditions. Knowledge and or work-related experience with government processes are an asset.

Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position are obtained through a Bachelors or Masters degree in Indigenous Studies, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or Public Engagement and related senior level experience. Additional certification in human relationship disciplines such as mediation, negotiation, facilitation, conflict resolution, policy development, senior leadership, communications, and in strategic thinking would be an asset. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
