Description

Program Support Worker
The KidsFirst program offers intensive Parenting and Early Childhood support for families with children prenatal to age 3.  The Home Visitor uses a strength-based family-centered approach to promote healthy parenting practices.  The Home Visitor meets families in their homes to strengthen positive parenting practices and parent/child interactions. The Program Support Worker will additionally provide educational programming to parent groups, presentations to the community, visits to the maternity ward and other supportive duties at the direction of the KidsFirst Program Manager and KidsFirst Home Visiting Supervisors.  Evening and weekend work may be required but is not typical.  
Required Qualifications  
Post-secondary training in a human service field is desirable as well as a demonstrated ability to present information to a variety of organizations and participants.  Typically, candidates should demonstrate a minimum two years experience working with vulnerable families and the ability to assist and teach clients to implement practical tasks and life skills.  Indigenous ancestry and languages are desirable. A Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector search is required upon hiring. A reliable working vehicle, valid driver's license and driver's abstract are required.  This job requires the individual to have the ability to transfer program materials up to 30 lbs, climb stairs during home visits and any other potential physical and environmental challenges related to this role.  Please submit a cover letter with resume, including names of three work related references, by Friday September 6th, 2024.  Wages commensurate with education and experience.  We thank all for applying.
