Description

As a Contract Manager, you will play a hands-on role requiring strong knowledge of transportation and the geographic area, with a primary focus on industrial work. You will oversee operations, safety, training, and maintenance, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.

This position is based in our Saskatoon office, with regular travel required to the BHP Jansen site, as well as Humboldt.Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, though shifts may vary based on business needs. You will report directly to the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

-Lead and direct key departments
-Report to customers, document meetings, and upload documents into portals
-Attend meetings, delegate tasks, and ensure accountability for deliverables
-Understand and execute contractual obligations
-Assist in developing operational budgets and forecasts
-Improve operational systems, procedures, and audit internal practices
-Recruit, manage, supervise, and direct personnel
-Ensure efficient coverage of all work
-Address driver performance issues
-Coordinate with the maintenance department to ensure fleet readiness
-Oversee fleet maintenance needs and initiate necessary repairs
-Set up and input data for driver payroll
-Prepare monthly billing
-Meet monthly with Drivers Reps to discuss driver concerns
-Handle public and driver inquiries with professionalism and empathy
-Represent the company at contractor meetings and with the media
-Build and maintain relationships with clients
-Network and volunteer within the community and industry

Required Qualifications:

-Post-secondary education with a focus on Management or equivalent experience
-3+ years of operations and management experience with strong decision-making skills
-Experience in the transportation sector
-Knowledge of WCB and Occupational Health & Safety regulations
-Familiarity with budgeting and financial statements
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office
-Attain class 2 license
