Description

We are a small, reputable and well-established law firm seeking someone with a positive, client-focused attitude to fill the position of receptionist/legal assistant. We emphasize high quality work and helpfulness to our clients and each other.

Your role:
- Front line communication with clients and public in a professional and client-centered manner
- Maintain reception space and office entry
- Schedule appointments
- File management
- Data entry in billing/time management program
- Preparation of court documents, editing and formatting general correspondence
- Create and forward communication in mail, fax, and email formats
- Scanning and photocopying
- Process cash/debit/credit from clients for services rendered
- Provide direction to court runner
- Assist lawyers in all aspects of their practices, including correspondence, management of schedules and meetings and other related tasks

What we are looking for?

Post-secondary office assistant education/training is required. Those with 1-2 years of experience in an office environment are preferred. Legal experience or knowledge would be an asset but is not essential.

A criminal record check will be required, if selected.

You:
- Understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality
- Enjoy communicating with the public
- Exhibit tact and empathy
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and a keen eye for detail
- Value and demonstrate accuracy
- Are comfortable navigating unknown platforms and applications
- Are proficient in Microsoft applications and Adobe Pro
- Are a multitasker with strong organizational skills and flexibility to meet changing priorities with minimal direction
- Have strong proofreading abilities
- Have keyboarding skills of at least 45 wpm
