Description

The Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC) is seeking a confident, articulate individual to join our team as a Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship (SYA) Program Consultant until June 30, 2026. The successful candidate will promote apprenticeship and careers in the skilled trades by attending events, such as career fairs and parent nights, and delivering classroom presentations to middle years and high school students.

This position will be based out of the SATCC's Regina office. The SYA Program Consultant will frequently work irregular hours and will travel extensively to deliver presentations, sometimes in adverse weather conditions to rural or remote areas. A valid Class 5 drivers license and access to a reliable personal vehicle is required.

In order to succeed in this role, you will have the ability to:

- Verbally and in writing communicate information to a variety of audiences that persuades, convinces, builds support, educates, and promotes understanding;
- Deliver engaging presentations to middle years and high school students;
- Establish and maintain a network of community contacts and professional relationships;
- Work independently and as a member of the team to meet goals and objectives;
- Effectively plan, prioritize and balance diverse and conflicting workload pressures and deadlines to accomplish program goals and meet client needs; and
- Create, format, and edit clear and effective written or visual materials using a variety of hardware and software applications and equipment.

The knowledge and skills for this position typically require a journeyperson certificate, knowledge of community, educational and training resources available to clients, and/or a degree in education. Prior experience public speaking is an asset.
