Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Head Start Educator is responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate Head Start program for children of the Alice Francis Head Start in accordance with Alice Francis Daycare Policies and Procedures. The Head Start Educator will be responsible for planning and implementing daily educational activities for the children. The Head Start Educator will be respectful of the children, parents, staff and community members and ensure equipment and work/play areas are clean, safe and well maintained.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Be a cooperative member of the CKCS school educational team.
2. Lead classroom planning, instruction and management.
3. Assist students to appreciate their First Nation identity, culture and language.
4. Participate in the supervision of students.    
5. Work at school regular contracted hours even when school has been cancelled for students.
6. To be a positive role model to the students.
7. Preparing teaching materials.
8. Supervision of students.
9. Assist with lunch programs.
10. Assist in organizing school functions.
11. Maintain a safe and welcoming classroom.
12. Provide recess and noon-hour supervision that is shared amongst all staff.
13. Shall assume any other duties as may be assigned by the Immediate Supervisor.
14. Work with the children in a caring, understanding, helpful, sensitive and pleasant manner.
15. The Head Start Educator shall follow proper protocol in addressing areas of concern.
