Description

The Manager of Firms at APEGS is a member of the management team, responsible for managing two core regulatory programs:

1. Registration of Firms; and,
2. Regulation of Firms

Working in consultation with regulatory colleagues in APEGS and peer regulators across provincial jurisdictions, the position manages the full program cycle (from research to development, to implementation, to ongoing auditing and monitoring of program effectiveness, leading to identification of enhancements), ensuring programs reflect leading practices, aligned and scaled to the size and complexity of the regulatory framework in place for engineering and geoscience firms practicing in the Province of Saskatchewan.

This position is an excellent opportunity to diversify your program management expertise and apply thought leadership to program expansion in line with regulatory trends and emerging practices. You will be interested in this role if:
- As a licensed engineer (P.Eng.) or geoscientist (P.Geo.), you view the opportunity to build out these two programs as a valuable and fulfilling act of leadership within the professions (other licensed professionals with relevant experience may be considered)
- You have experience, volunteer or otherwise, in regulation, regulatory process, or compliance/auditing processes
- You have an interest in engaging with registrants through a variety of communication and facilitation strategies aimed at receiving feedback that will help shape program development and program roll out plans
- You are skilled in taking big picture concepts, research, and methodologies and scaling or right-sizing program development to align with the pragmatic needs of the environment/jurisdiction within which you are serving
- You seek a work environment that provides rich learning opportunities
- You thrive on making a difference by solving problems and finding better ways to achieve results
