Description

The Medical Transportation Coordinator is responsible for participating in the delivery of the standard of Community Health and adhere to the FNIHB/NIHB Medical Transportation Policy Framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer all incoming calls related to the Medical Transportation in a professional manner.
- Work with NIHB MT Call Centre and One Arrow Health Centre to support community member request with travel and overnight accommodations to medical appointments on same day.
-Prepare and maintain a filing system for all documentation such as letters, reports, forms, travel warrants, medical transportation data.
- Provide vouchers prior to accessing services.
-Submitting transportation request for regular ongoing appointments.
-Calling MT Call Centre to follow up on receipt of paperwork submission.
-Dealing with urgent last minute appointments.
-Submit reimbursement requests.
-Schedule appointments for servicing and maintenance of medical transportation vehicles and daily checks are completed.
-Must be proficient with word processing and spreadsheets
-Book medical drivers for medical appointments.
-Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
-Complete and keep up to date records on all inventory and supplies.
-Complete quarterly reporting in accordance with OAFN Policy and funding guidelines.
-Develop protocols and procedures with partner agencies to formalize agreements on service delivery and operations of the Medical Transportation Program.
-Ensure prior approvals to Health Canada for all long-distance medical trips.
-Attend information and training sessions.
-Must have knowledge of community and local resources.
-Able to work independently or with minimum supervision.
-Experience working with clients of all ages.
-Friendly and outgoing nature.
-Excellent organizational skills.
-Valid class 5 driver's license.
-Able to take direction and provide to medical transportation drivers.
