Overview
The Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Process Development team.
Accountabilities
Source, develop, manage, and execute projects related to alternative energy, energy storage, microgrid systems, energy assessments and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems
Solve complex problems involving the integration of distributed energy resources into edge-of-grid and remote grid applications
Determine value propositions and clearly communicate them to a wide variety of stakeholders including project team members and clients
Conduct field commissioning and troubleshooting, as necessary, for power systems and SCADA communication systems
Develop proposals, funding applications and project reports
Qualifications
Electrical engineering or engineering physics degree with registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
Minimum of five years industry experience, preferably in the areas of renewable energy and hybrid systems
Experience in grid innovation, modernization and energy transition, specifically in the design, construction and operation of hybrid systems
Proficient in modelling software used for efficiency, renewables and storage, such as PVSyst, RETScreen, HOT2000, WindPro, Windographer, or HOMER
Experience building efficiency, district energy systems, EV charging, electrification, smart load management and hybrid system integration
Prior experience working directly with clients to develop projects is an asset
The chosen candidate will be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.
