Description

The Humboldt & District Chamber of Commerce is seeking a highly motivated person to fill the role of a Full-Time Executive Director  Temporary (until November 2025)

Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, implement and oversee the completion of program activities that have been approved by the Chamber's Board of Directors on a day-to-day basis (membership retention and development programs, etc.)
Manage the Humboldt Downtown BID and related promotions and work.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with appropriate government officials and business leaders.
Recruit, train, direct, supervise and motivate staff while fostering a positive work environment that enables the engagement of all staff in the pursuit of desired results.
Provide leadership and direction in the development and achievement of operational and financial results including, sales, margins, expense, inventory and SPEH for your department.
Develop and co-ordinate the budgeting process of the Chamber while controlling expenditures within defined authority.
General bookkeeping responsibilities as it relates to bank transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll transactions, preparing and filing sales tax forms and preparation of annual financial statements etc.
Other duties as assigned.  

Skills and Qualifications:
Effective interpersonal, leadership and communications skills.
Knowledge of digital communications, marketing on various platforms, and business development skills considered an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft office programs.
Motivated and ability to work in a busy environment.
Effective planning, organization, detail oriented and time management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrate the ability to maintain relationships outside of the organization that support the organization.

Reports to: The Humboldt & District Chamber of Commerce President of the Chamber Board and the Board of Directors.
