The Water Security Agency is seeking an Extension Technologist, Flood Programs to join the Economic Development team in our Moose Jaw, Yorkton or Weyburn, Saskatchewan location.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Extension, an employee in this job will provide environmental expertise and support both internal and external partners.

This employee will be responsible for projects or assignments of routine to moderate complexity and work will specifically focus on activities related to evaluation, analysis and extension on flood hazard identification and mapping projects, flood mitigation programs, ecological function, watershed health, non-point source pollution and/or habitat conservation individually and within a team environment.

This employee will provide technical and administrative extension advice and expertise to communities, municipalities, NGOs, other governmental agencies, community groups, universities, schools and watershed groups and will participate in flood mapping and flood mitigation projects, and troubleshoot issues through various communications to clients, industry partners, and colleagues and to keep them informed on the results and status of projects.

The successful candidate will have a Diploma in environmental science, water management, and/or agriculture or a similar discipline and be eligible for certification with Technology Professionals Saskatchewan (formerly SASTT) as an Associate Member, or membership to the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS), or membership to Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists (SIA).
