Duties and responsibilities:
Under the general direction of the Depot Supervisor in Regina and reporting to the Special Needs Equipment Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for various duties required for the efficient operation of the Special Needs Equipment depot in accordance with the policies and procedures established by SaskAbilities and the Saskatchewan Aids to Independent Living program.
Duties include:
- Ensure that all inventory is clean, in good working order and is safe and ready for client use.
- Unload shipments such as hospital beds, lifts, wheelchairs, etc. and place stock onto warehouse shelves.
- Assist with shipping equipment to clients based on requisition specifications.
- Perform administrative, customer service or equipment maintenance duties as required.
- Prepare manual wheelchairs for issue by cleaning the equipment, changing upholstery, seat belts, tires, and bearings etc. and set-up equipment as per requisition specifications.
- Test, clean, repair, and/or rebuild a variety of types of equipment (including bath tub lifts, hydraulic lifts, walkers, tub benches, etc.).
- Operate hand tools including drills, wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers and other equipment such as a pressure washer, air compressor, pallet jack and a forklift.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized warehouse.
- Assist in the daily operations of the Special Needs Equipment depot.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Forklift Certification an asset
Skills:
- Good mechanical aptitude - knowledge of basic mechanics and experience in using a variety of hand tools
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a multitask environment
- Good aptitude for problem solving
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills
