Description

The Ministry of Health is looking for a strategic leader with exceptional management and communication skills to fill the full-time role of Executive Director for the Continuing Care Branch. In this position, you will spearhead initiatives related to senior care, special-care homes, home care, palliative care, personal care homes, cognitive disabilities, hearing services and acquired brain injury. Additionally, the branch offers research, evaluation and central support for these program areas.

Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Ministry, the Executive Director for the Continuing Care Branch will lead a team of professional staff, fostering a respectful and effective branch culture through collaborative efforts.

In order to be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will be a proven leader who is decisive, resilient and a strong communicator.

You will possess knowledge of:

- Government structure, protocol, policies and procedures including decision-making, political, legislative and budget development processes;
- Best practices and emerging trends in seniors care;
- Health sector issues, partnerships and stakeholder relationships; and,
- Performance and financial management.

Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be obtained through completion of a graduate degree in public policy, political science, economics, or business administration supplemented with related experience.
