Description:
Working with an inter-disciplinary team the Resolution Health Support Worker is responsible to provide emotional, spiritual, physical, and mental support to Indian Residential School (IRS) Survivors, Day School Survivors, their families and communities through programing and case management.  
Responsibilities:
Emotional support services to former IRS Survivors, Day School Survivors, and their family members, when and where required, paying particular attention to those individuals in crisis.
Provide case management with Former IRS Students and their families with development of and follow through of case plans and thorough documentation.
Work with a team to organize programs, services and events for former IRS Students and their family members to promote healing and wellness.
Maintain and report on program stats and outcomes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work or Bachelor of Social Work or a combination of education and work experience may be considered.
Experience working with Indigenous mental health and wellness issues.
Knowledge and understanding of First Nations language, culture, traditions and social issues, Indian Residential Schools and the impact on individuals and families and knowledge and skills in healing methodologies.
High level of skill with and knowledge of casework practice.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
Ability to manage multiple duties simultaneously
Must be willing to travel and must possess a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle and must submit a current vulnerable sector criminal record check.
Preference will be given to qualified Indigenous candidates who self-identify. The Newo-Yotina Friendship Centre relies on section 48 of The Saskatchewan Human Rights Code to give preference in employment for this position.
