Description

The On-Call Emergency Support Worker provides backup support in our Emergency Receiving Homes when regular Child Support Workers are unavailable. The role includes working on a rotational basis for after-hours emergency support, arranging replacement workers for shifts, addressing maintenance issues, and managing concerns involving workers and children. The position requires flexibility, quick response times, and strong problem-solving skills to ensure the children's safety and well-being.

Duties and Responsibilities:
-Provide immediate backup support when regularly scheduled Child Support Workers are unable to attend.
-Ensure continuity of care and supervision for children in emergency receiving homes.
-Coordinate with available staff to find replacement workers for shifts when employees call in.
-Respond promptly to emergent situations such as maintenance issues or issues with the children and/or workers.
-Coordinate with relevant services (e.g., maintenance) to resolve issues swiftly.
-Be on a regular rotation for after-hours emergency services.
-Ensure availability and readiness to respond to emergency calls during off-hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
-Communicate effectively with Child Support Workers, management, and other staff members to ensure seamless operations.
-Document and report any incidents or issues that arise during the shift.

Requirements:
-High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, or a related field is an asset.
-Previous experience working with children and families in crisis or vulnerable situations is highly desirable.
-Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
