The Prevention Program Supervisor will work within the community to develop realistic strategic prevention plans, recognizing the needs of the community. This individual will continually monitor and report on community concerns to ensure program objectives are aligned with identified needs. The Prevention Program Supervisor will oversee all functions of the program including the provision of community-based education and referrals, the supervision and guidance of program prevention workers and assisting with the creation of the annual budget. This individual with regularly liaise with members of the community, various department heads and other community-based organizations in order to ensure effective delivery of the prevention program in accordance with established policies and procedures.

QualificationsBachelor of Social Work (BSW or BISW) OR Certificate in Social Work (CSW or CISW) or studies in other related fields and five years experience working with children and familiesKnowledge of Cree and Saulteaux culture and language is an assetAbility to utilize computer software and hardware programsAbility to make decisions using sound judgment in difficult or ambiguous situationsDemonstrated organizational and time management skills ability to maintain accurate and current information and documentation relating to case filesExcellent oral and written communication skillsIn-depth knowledge and understanding of First Nations people, the cultures, communities, service agencies and political structuresKnowledge of provincial and federal structures including legislation, policies and programs relevant to First Nations peopleIn-depth knowledge and understanding of First Nations people, the cultures, communities, service agencies and political structuresKnowledge of provincial and federal structures including legislation, policies and programs relevant to First Nations peopleDemonstrated organizational skills
