Description

The Nipawin Housing Authority (NHA) has an opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join their team for a term of approximately four months.  If you are ambitious and skilled in building and property maintenance, we would love to hear from you!

Reporting to the Housing Authority Manager, this front-line position requires the ability to promote positive working relationships with management, staff, and tenants and respects peoples diversity and individual differences.

The position will:
Deliver building maintenance services and repairs
Conduct unit turnover repairs
Perform groundskeeping and maintain housing authority equipment and inventory  

Responsibilities and Requirements:
Knowledge of the basic techniques employed in a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, flooring, and electrical.
Experience servicing and repairing building mechanical equipment.
Ability to use hand and power tools and lift heavy loads.
Knowledge in the trades including carpentry, plumbing, heating, mechanical, painting, electrical, and groundskeeping work.

Qualifications:
Grade 12 education, basic computer skills, training in the trades along with hands on experience in a maintenance and repair OR an equivalent combination is required.
Self-motivated with the ability to handle stress, while prioritizing workloads and respecting peoples diversity and individual differences.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to organize and participate in an on call program for emergencies for evening, weekend, and holiday coverage.
A valid drivers license and reliable, roadworthy vehicle is required Nipawin Housing Authority (NHA) will reimburse for vehicle use.
An approved Enhanced (Vulnerable Sector) criminal record check is a condition of employment.
