Luther College (www.luthercollege.edu/high-school) invites applicants for a full-time permanent position in the role of Caretaker/Maintenance Worker. Reporting to the Manager of Facilities and ultimately the Director of Finance, the incumbent is responsible for performing duties pertaining to the daily maintenance of the dorms and school.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Assist and perform general repair and maintenance of facilities, grounds and grounds keeping equipment. The successful candidate will need to operate equipment for grounds maintenance (tractor, riding lawn mowers, snow blowers, sweepers etc.).
-Conduct repairs of the residence and academic facilities to ensure the timely and efficient upkeep of the high school campus facilities, potentially including painting; drywall; installing flooring; plumbing; repairing lighting; minor electrical; and changing or repairing locks on doors.
-Observe temperatures and pressures of steam and hot water heating systems.
-Maintain fans, motors, belts, and perform filter changes throughout the building.
-Use of computer to answer work tickets.
-Help to provide Physical Plant support for needed special events held in the building such as assisting with special furniture, risers, or room set ups.
-Performs snow removal during winter months.
-Participate in various renovation projects.
-Cleaning of the mechanical areas of the building. -May also assist with housekeeping duties such as vacuuming or mopping floors, cleaning offices, classrooms, common spaces, and washrooms as required.
-Other duties as assigned.
