Description

The technical services department is looking for a talented Mechanical Technologist who would like to be part of a team that will provide design services and solutions to Cameco operations and other business units. You will provide CAD and design services including 3D reality capture, CAD software management, and supporting other lead designers in the development of data-rich 3D models, and drawings.

In this role, you will:
- Support mechanical and piping design development
- Work with scanned point cloud data
- Develop 3D models using software within the Autodesk ecosystem
- Support the development of construction drawings and details
- Provide design support as needed to facilitate field construction during the procurement and construction stages of smaller capital and expense projects
- Apply corporate policies, procedures, regulations (Federal provincial, corporate, and SHEQ), and technical and safety standards in your day-to-day work

Required:  
- Diploma in mechanical engineering technology
- At least 10 years of experience in mechanical design roles
- A.Sc.T, C.E.T. or equivalent technology certification
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered

Recommended:
- Strong hands-on experience in operating 3D scanning equipment, scan data processing, analysis/ interpretation of 3D scan data, and setup of scan data for use in 3D modeling environments
- Experience working with 3D Laser Scanning software (such as Leica Cyclone, Register, Jetstream, CloudWorx, and Autodesk ReCap), Autodesk CAD software packages (such as Plant 3D, MEP, Navisworks, and Vault or similar drawing management systems)
- Experience with equipment layouts, piping, and development of intelligent 3Dmodels to support Building Information Modelling
-Ability to visit projects based at Camecos northern Saskatchewan sites and Ontario operations.
