Description

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Swift Current is seeking applicants for an Executive Director. This is a supervisory level position responsible for branch operation. The Executive Director, in collaboration with board, staff and volunteers, plans, organizes and directs services for the rehabilitation of persons with psychiatric disorders and coordinates a variety of other activities.

Duties
o Develops and provides a structured program for and in consultation with the clients consisting of services such as social, recreational, peer support, vocational and advocacy in the Centre or in the community.
o Recruits, trains, and supervises staff, client workers and service volunteers.
o Develops and delivers volunteer services.
o Supports the Board in ongoing development of the vision, mission and strategic planning.
o Applies for grants/sponsorships.
o Monitors and authorizes budgets, payroll and financial reports.
o Represents and promotes the Branch to service agencies, community groups and businesses, funding bodies, provincial association, and provincial government.

Desired Skills and Qualifications
o University degree in the Social Sciences, Social Work, a Psychiatric Nursing Diploma or other related education or experience.
o In-depth knowledge of the mental health field.
o Administrative and supervisory experience in a unionized workplace.
o Experience with fundraising, public relations, advocacy and working with a Board of Directors.
o Exemplary organization and administrative ability.
o Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and payroll requirements.
o Strong communications and public relations skills.
o City of Swift Current Safe Places certified, including a clear criminal record and vulnerable sectors check.
o Valid Drivers License.
