This is a PART-TIME POSITION
Qualifications:
- Cooking experience required.
- Ideally, Food Safe certification preferred, or knowledge of WHMIS and Health & Safety in a commercial kitchen.
- Experience or knowledge of homelessness and addiction issues.
- Strong interpersonal skills and clear personal boundaries.
- Valid Class 5 drivers license.
- Valid VISA required.
- Must not be a student.
- Food certification training will be provided.
Compensation:
- $17 per hour.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM (4 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break).
- Occasionally: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (7.5 hours) to cover other shifts.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Interact respectfully with guests, volunteers, and donors.
- Maintain a clean and presentable appearance.
- Pick up and deliver food donations as needed.
- Manage daily meal programs (planning, shopping, meal preparation, and inventory).
- Oversee three public Holiday Meals (planning, shopping, meal preparation, and inventory).
- Perform janitorial duties to ensure cleanliness of the facility.
- Enforce facility rules when necessary.
- Assist with management duties as needed.
