Description

Please note that one-to-one support is provided throughout the day. Shift work is required and may include mornings, daytime, evenings, and weekends. Duties include:
-Teach daily living skills (e.g., managing a home, transportation training, meal planning/preparation, interpersonal relations, personal care issues).
-Support with budgeting and money management.
-Assist with connections to community professionals and resources (e.g., doctors, landlords, social workers).
-Assist to find housing (e.g., viewings, landlords, utility connection, guidance regarding choices and availability).
-Assist to manage socially appropriate behaviours and promote independence.
-Maintain documentation (e.g., daily activities, attendance, progress a/o concerns, participant program files).
-Provide support to adults who participate in the day program including on-site and community-based activities, volunteer placements, and transportation as required.

Qualifications:
-Disability Support Worker Certificate (Rehabilitation Worker Certificate) or Life Skills Coach and/or related training and experience working with individuals of varying abilities and behaviours.
-Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
-First Aid/CPR/AED certification. Additional courses such as TLR and PART would be considered an asset.
-One-year experience in a related field.
-Ability to be flexible and work independently and as part of a team.
-Excellent communication, organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills.
-Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work effectively with individuals experiencing disabilities, co-workers and community partners.
-The final candidates are required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search.
