Description

Job Title: Meat Manager
Location: FreshCo Confederation & Laurier
OVERVIEW:
Responsible for the overall operation of the department including sales, profitability, productivity and its general appearance.  Manages department employees, deals with customers and with sales representatives from various companies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
oHigh school diploma plus two (2) years' experience as a Department Clerk or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
oKnowledge of Meat/Bakery products
oSound understanding of inventory control and gross profit projections.
oGood understanding of Food Safety and Health and Safety legislation
oKnowledge of FreshCo policies and procedures
oStrong interpersonal skills including attention to detail, time management and ability to multi-task
oGood written and verbal communication skills
oProven ability to hire, train and coach staff
oPhysical ability to perform the duties of the job

RESPONSIBILITIES
oMaximizes sales and profit objectives by implementing marketing and merchandising programs.  Oversees merchandising displays, maintains product levels by stocking shelves and monitoring product inventory.
oManages department staff by hiring, scheduling, providing work direction, reviewing performance and providing feedback and conducting disciplinary procedures.
oPerforms administrative duties including signing time statements for payroll, ordering product, and producing sales, purchase and manager's reports.
oMaintains inventory levels by counting stock, ordering and receiving product, and checking invoices.
oProvides customer service by responding to their inquiries and resolving issues.
oMaintains operating policies and procedures by reviewing, updating, and enforcing compliance with legislated requirements (e.g., Food Safety and Health & Safety), and by training staff.
oPerforms other related duties as required.
