The Government of Saskatchewans Ministry of Government Relations is seeking an energetic, confident individual with strong relationship-building skills, collaboration, communication, analytical, policy and program development, implementation and evaluation skills to join the Aboriginal Consultation Unit team within the Lands and Consultation Branch.
We are seeking a qualified person with knowledge and experience of governments legal duty to consult to help fulfill the Ministry's role in meeting the goal and objectives of Saskatchewans First Nation and Mtis Consultation Policy Framework. You will build relationships and work collaboratively with provincial Ministries, Crowns and agencies, First Nation and Mtis communities, consultants, and other organizations. You will be responsible for providing day-to-day policy advice and implementation support to officials across government and senior management, and support to the administration of the First Nation and Mtis Consultation Participation Fund. In addition, the team is responsible for delivering all internal training and external outreach related to governments duty to consult, which may involve travel to rural and remote Aboriginal communities.
Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be obtained by the completion of a degree or diploma in public policy, social sciences, resource management, or a related field, combined with several years of experience working with Indigenous communities and industry in the lands and resource sectors.
