Description

Job Purpose:
The Family Support Worker provides direct support and assistance to families in need, offering practical help, emotional support, and resources to promote family stability and well-being. This position focuses on building trusting relationships, assessing family needs, and connecting families with appropriate services and resources.

Reports to:
Family Support Coordinator/Outreach Manager/Executive Director

Key Responsibilities:
1.    Family Needs Assessment:
2.    Resource Connection and Referral:
3.    Emotional Support and Counseling:
4.    Parenting Education and Skill Building:
5.    Advocacy and Case Management:
6.    Documentation and Reporting:

Qualifications:
Post Secondary education in Human Services, or related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
Proven experience in family support work, case management, or related social services roles.
Knowledge of community resources and services available to families, including social service systems and support networks.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with families from diverse backgrounds.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively while handling multiple cases.
Cultural competence and sensitivity to work effectively with individuals and families from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds.

This position may require flexibility in scheduling, including evening
